WHERE IS WARBALL GOING?

You’ve heard of the Harlem Globetrotters (124 years old!) with about 1 million viewers per week in the Internet age. In a similar genre, a new version of Baseball, the Savannah Bananas, have sold out stadiums 3 years in a row, and generated over $50m in ticket revenue THIS year. It is pretty much baseball but with supplemental entertainment on and off field.

So, basketball and baseball have “Alternate” versions, BUT why not football? My view is football is too contact heavy and dangerous to be screwing around.

Enter WarBall, who is designed to save youth football from extinction (30% decline and rising) whose rules eliminate high speed collisions but (amazingly) still has tackling and blocking. Our addition of Martial Arts and its culture of restraint, respect, and compassion changes the mindset from football’s “kill or be killed” mentality.

Furthermore, in WarBall, we have the “Payload Rule”(tm) that states you can not exert any more force than necessary to “get the job’ done.

Finally, the use of (safe) weapons or MMA that must be used (targeting our patented ‘disablement’ devices not the person) first BEFORE a tackle OR block, slows down approach of player to his target. Body shots to the head or knee are almost impossible.

Thus, fans would see on the first few seconds of every WarBall play 24 fighters engaged in MMA or weapons, followed by football action. How cool is that and it makes up for the lack of violent hits. But I am not sure it will be enough so long before I heard of the Bananas, I added tons of supplemental entertainment:

Not too sure about the horses yet until safety issues can be ironed out, and I won’t burden you with everything I have planned, but Wonder Women type archers playing safety (targeting the ball carrier and each other) with safe arrows and our muzzled pursuit canines will be the stars of the show.

But the main feature of WarBall is its historical theme or vibe to offer endless (off field) material to entertain based on 3000 years of humanity. The WWE type matches between, Trump v. Taliban, Caesar v. Spartacus, Napoleon v. King George, etc.

A penalty box similar to hockey’s, but to exit will have a ‘trial by combat’. These are done between plays and timeouts. And, I have 20 or so more ideas that I have not listed for “Shock and Awe” entertainment. LED lighted arrows with a neon glow in flight, and fighting sticks that glow upon impact, some RC aviation, etc. etc.

So, there you go, football now has the equivalent of the famous one’s mentioned, with 3 times more action than football, but preserving football’s visuals, dramatic endings and overcoming adversity.

No other sport does these as well as football, but I think even people who don’t like football will embrace WarBall, Women (and smaller men) can play any position, the “weapons or MMA first” rule gifts them with an opportunity, so we add women viewers as a result.

We can also use Super Hero icons, Dead Pool at QB, lol, Iron Man on the line. Note our football is a defensive weapon, to deflect a tackle or help with blocking, the QB is particular uses it to prevent being sacked – you won’t see the QB being obliterated in WarBall due to our rules of engagement. Wide receivers and running backs fight back with it to block weapons strikes on the run and push away a tackle.

Whether is fails or succeeds, Sonoma has claim as the first in history to make a new version of tackle football. Anyone playing it can take credit for building it. The city of Savannah has become famous as the Bananas home, and I hope to do the same with SRJC, and of course help its players careers as professional WarBall football players. Once this happens, recruitment for The Cubs will be exponentially better.

And, we could very well save Youth Football from extinction, the reason I invented it.
